 USN Strike Fighter Squadron, VF-143,  "Pukin Dogs" is a United States Navy fighter squadron established in 1950 and is based at Naval Air Station OceanaVirginia

 

In TF-77, they fly the F-14B Tomcat, providing for fleet defense and offensive multirole tasks.

VF-143 is currently commanded by CDR "Zorro" LeGrand (CO) and LCDR "Rice" Huang (XO).

Available Slots and Requirements

Slots Available

  • 6 Full-Time F-14B Pilots

    • Ability to CASE I and Aerial Refuel preferred 

    • Minimum of 50% attendance

    • 15+ hours in the F-14A/B recommended

  • 8 Full-Time F-14B RIOs​

    • Minimum of 50% attendance

    • HOTAS  is NOT required for RIOs

  • Basic knowledge of the AWG-9 recommended

  • RESERVE SLOTS - CLOSED​

    • Qualified members who cannot make 50% of our Tuesday/Thursday training nights may be transferred to Active RESERVE status. Reserve pilots are welcome to continue flying with the Squadron, provided slots are available. â€‹

Membership Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 

  • Regular attendance to at least one night a week

    • Training nights Tues / Thurs at 2000 PST

      • Life comes first. Suppose you are unable to attend for any reason. In that case, all we ask is that you notify your squadron leadership via the Leave of Absence channel. You will never be penalized for missing a night if you put in an LoA​

  • Willingness to self-study, read provided materials, and schedule times with Instructor Pilots.  

  • Fortitude to sit through dad jokes, adult humor, and assorted shenanigans

  • Hands-on Throttle and Stick (HOTAS)​

    • Requirement waived for RIOs​

  • Head-tracking solution OR a Virtual Reality headset

    • Requirement waived for RIOs​

  • Ability to use Discord and SRS (or at least willingness to learn)

  • Ownership of the Syria, Persian Gulf, Supercarrier and F-14 modules

    • NTTR Map is also recommended
