Marine Attack Squadron (VMA-211), nicknamed the "Wake Island Avengers," is a United States Marine attack squadron established in 1937 and based in Yuma, Arizona.

 

In TF-77, they fly the AV-8B with a callsign of  "Avengers", and the squadron is currently commanded by LtCol "Salty" Haas (CO) and Maj "Grizzly Smith (XO).

Available Slots and Requirements

Slots Available

  • 8 Full-Time AV-8B Pilots

    • A minimum of 50% attendance is requested, pending real-life circumstances  

  • RESERVE SLOTS - Closed

    • Slots for reserve members are open internally based on the completion of training and dependent on agreed terms of participation.​

Membership Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 

  • Regular attendance to Tuesday and Thursday training nights at 2000 PST

    • Life comes first. If you are unable to attend for any reason, all we ask is you notify your squadron leadership via the Leave of Absence channel. You will never be penalized for missing a night if you put in a LoA​

  • Willingness to self-study, read provided materials, and schedule times with Instructor Pilots  

  • Fortitude to sit through dad jokes, adult humor, and assorted shenanigans

  • Hands-on Throttle and Stick (HOTAS)​​

  • Head-tracking solution OR a Virtual Reality headset

  • Ability to use Discord and SRS (or at least willingness to learn)

  • Ownership of the Syria, Persian Gulf, Supercarrier, and AV-8B module

    • NTTR Map is also recommended

  • (Recommended) 25+ Hours in DCS World or other simulator OR Real-World flight experience​
